COLOR ME PRETTY

Monday, September 28, 2015

With temps beginning to transition from summer to fall I have begun to incorporate layers into my outfits. Even if they are light weight options such as this H&M Kamino. Not to mention, it adds a pop of color to an otherwise plain black outfit.

The lovely Jessica Turner and I ventured to Old Salem for this boho inspired look. This is the first time her and I have worked together and it was an instant photographer/model connection. She captured exactly what I was looking for and I instantly felt comfortable. That comfortable instantaneous connection is rare but so important for both of you to accomplish a common goal.

Stay tuned for another look at own of my new favorite Winston coffee spots.

CHAMBRAY

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Let me first start by saying Black Mountain Chocolate was a wonderful addition to our little city of Winston-Salem...even if it isn't so wonderful for my waist line. They have everything from truffles to macaroons which are made in house behind the glass viewing windows. The staff are friendly and helpful, I always love their music choices, and the coffee is delicious. How could you go wrong?

In regards to my outfit, I found this amazing Shoshanna chambray dress and Ralph Lauren leather bag at a local thrift store called Snob Shop. They have all sorts of designer clothing pieces for suuuper cheap. The embroidery, wooden buttons trailing all the way down, and the fun pleating is what really drew me in. I knew immediately when I saw this dress, it was going to be my favorite summer staple.

LACED

Monday, June 15, 2015

Pink Blush has quickly become one of my favorite companies to shop for all of my summer needs. They hit the nail on the head with this black laced trim maxi dress. It is perfect for the hot weather NC has been receiving the past week or two. Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge fan of anything lace. So, when Pink Blush contacted me this was my first choice. It is comfortable, versatile, has a touch of elegance, and is my favorite color...black.

Unfortunately, it is sold out on their website (I totally can understand why) but there are PLENTY of other maxi dress options that I absolutely love. Check it out!

Shop the look:

Pink Blush black laced trim (sold out; love this and this) c/o / Sole Society block heels (old similar style here), Jessica Simpson clutch, H&M headband

SHOP PINK BLUSH

I can't tell you how excited I am for the upcoming summer months. This spring has been nothing short of busy, and I for one am excited to take a couple beach vacations very soon.

Speaking of Spring/Summer, there is nothing better than being able to throw on a shirt, skirt, or dress and walk right out the door. This Pink Blush 3/4 length button down back shirt is perfect for those casual days out on the town. I absolutely loved the back detail, as it gives an otherwise simple shirt that extra bit of flare. Pair it with a skirt or a fancy pair of shorts and you are good to go.

You should also check out all Pink Blush has to offer! So many great pieces for the upcoming warmer months. <3

Shop the look:

Pink Blush button down back shirt c/o / Pink Blush necklace c/o / Francesca's flared skirt c/o (similar here and here) / UrbanOG booties (old; love these and these) / Boho Blue Boutique stone ring

FLORAL

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending one of my lifelong friend's wedding. It was one of the more fun weddings I have been to. Simply because I was surrounded by people I grew up with, the food was great, the alcohol was flowing, and we all broke it down on the dance floor. :) I knew I needed a fancy yet comfortable dress to be able to dance in.

This H&M sleeveless dress was perfect for the occasion. Not only is the pattern spectacular but it fit in all the right places. Fit and flares are sometimes a hit or miss for me but this dress hit it out of the park. Can we also talk about my favorite part? It has pockets. I feel like I am not the only one who really appreciates this feature, am I right?

Shop the look:

H&M sleeveless dress / Sole Society booties (Old; love these and these) / Vintage clutch (similar here) / H&M Bangle

DOWNTOWN

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

As soon as I tried on this jumpsuit at H & M I knew I would be taking it home with me. I love the pattern and the interesting lines this spring ready clothing item creates. Wear it with heels to dress it up a bit or throw on some booties and a hat to create more of an urban street style look as I have here. Side note, it is currently on sale for only $20!

I hope you all are enjoying your week. It has been getting warmer here in NC and I for one am very happy about that. Especially if that means getting some sun on these pasty limbs. :)

Shop the look:

H&M Jumpsuit / H&M Necklace and Bangle / Forever 21 Hat (old; similar style) & Backpack / Rue 21 booties (similar style here) / Urban Outfitters Sunglasses
