Living in the Piedmont of North Carolina can mean unpredictable summer weather. One day it is extremely hot and humid and the next it feels like spring with a constant cool breeze. This lovely Nordstrom floral bomber jacket is great for those unpredictable times. The mesh floral embellished sleeves make it breathable while the vest zip up gives a little more coverage for those breezy days. Not to mention, it can be styled many different ways. I am thinking distressed denim, casual graphic tee, and this jacket to finish the look. What do you think?

Also, in case you have been living under a rock...the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is happening until August 4th. They have some great affordable pieces for sale so I would definitely recommend checking it out!

Let me start off by wishing everyone a HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! I am so glad the fourth decided to land on a Friday this year making it a long 3-day weekend. Nothing says summer like fireworks, barbecues, picnics, and red/white/blue. Some of my early childhood memories were of my parents taking me and my sister to the local fireworks show on the fourth of July. I can just remember looking up into the colorfully lit sky and thinking how awesome it is that these things known as "fireworks" existed. It is one of the only objects in this world (that I can think of) that make that much noise and can give everyone equally that much joy. Speaking of, I can't wait to shoot some off tonight!

Obviously, for this shoot I went for a 4th of July color scheme and paired my silk She Inside pleated midi skirt with a white lace overlay courtesy of Vintage Jane. Then I couldn't forget to add my pop of blues which my Vera Wang cobalt blue heels for perfect for. I really enjoyed the different textures this outfit had to offer and you can never go wrong with a pleated midi. Especially when it has pockets!

Have a safe and fun filled weekend! What are your plans for this festive holiday?
