This was easily the most fun I have had doing a photo shoot thus far. When Anna said "I am going to put on some Janis Joplin all you have to do is dance"...I was totally in. I love how these images capture me in a playful light while also showcasing this 70's inspired fuax fur jacket. The "old Hollywood glamour" lighting really sets off the whole look and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Dancing, music, and fashion are three of my greatest joys in life and being able to combine them was a treat to say the least.

Not to mention, this jacket has been on serious repeat through the cold weather. It keeps me unbelievably warm and anytime I can rock a fuax fur jacket, I am okay with it. Paired with a simple black ensemble and wine colored pumps are you are good for a night out dancing with the girls!

I hope everyone has a wonderful safe Thanksgiving! Eat lots of food and be merry!

Shop the look:

H&M fuax fur jacket (sold out; very similar here) / Target skinny jeans (also love these and these) / Target mid heel pump

This weekend, my lovely photographer Anna and I had the opportunity to shoot at the studio she works at in Greensboro. Anna wanted to do some portfolio work which basically left me with no makeup for a raw "all natural" portrait session. I have to admit when she asked me to do this for her I was a little hesitant. However, with her encouragement and confidence I realized there is something beautiful about being vulnerable and showing your true self. Society now a days focus too much on appearance and the way people see them on the outside. Being beautiful on the inside is what really matters and that will show on the surface every time. Sorry to get so cheesy on you guys, but it is true and thank you to Anna for helping me remember that!

Of course, we took the opportunity to shoot some looks at the same time. For this outfit, I really wanted to focus on constructing a look around my new Target Chelsea boots. Since they are such a sleek structured shoe I wanted to reflect that in my pairings. I decided to do a standard button down and a black blazer with a little embellishment just to add texture to the look.

I had so much fun playing in the studio, and can't wait to show my next look we shot here! It's featuring my current favorite clothing item.

Shop the look:

Forever 21 embellished blazer (Old; love this and this) / Cermuix button down (Similar here and here) / Vintage Jane scarf / Target Chelsea boots / H&M denim jeans

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am in love with anything maxi. I try to incorporate them into my wardrobe year round mixing and matching accessories as the weather permits. All you need is to layer tights underneath and boots in those cold winter months, and you are good to go. To give this outfit a little more warmth I paired this maxi with my Rebecca Elliot faux fur vest. I could honestly live in this thing. It is so warm regardless of not having sleeves. Anthropologie has an almost identical version of this vest. Although it is a little pricey it is totally worth the purchase, I promise you will not regret it!

I have linked some of my top maxi dress picks for this fall/winter below. Happy shopping!

Shop the look:

Forever21 maxi dress / Rebecca Elliot faux fur vest (Similar) / Modcloth midi boot (old; LOVE these) / Nordstrom satchel (Old; Similar here & here)

During this past New York Fashion Week, I begin to see a trend that I was really fond of. The minimalist street style is effortlessly chic and can be attained by pairing like colors (usually in the black, white, or nude colorway). It's usually about simple layering or adding a statement accessory that can "jazz up" the outfit in a sense. I decided to make these H&M high top sneakers be just that. The stark white breaks up the dark hues and draws the eye down. Not to mention there are a lot of different color options for these shoes, and only $14.95! I may just buy a couple more pairs myself.

On a side note, a blogger whom achieves this look and style exceptionally well is We Wore What. She is one of my personal style icons to which I draw inspiration from daily. Check out her blog for all your street style inspiration needs!

To be honest, when I first began exploring the world of duster coats I was a little unsure of them. I am not super tall so my fear was that they would either drag on the floor, or make me appear shorter than I am. Man, was I completely wrong. When I tried my first duster coat on there was no turning back. They are fantastic, mainly because they are a great layering piece for the fall, but also because they give an outfit a sleek structured look. This felted duster coat from H&M particularly caught my eye because of the textures and colors. It is warm, comfortable, and on trend for fall. Definitely recommend the purchase and it's ON SALE!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween weekend. Mine was filled with music, friends, snow, tasty beverages, and mountains. I definitely can not complain. Now onto my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving!
